OPEN PSYCHOLOGICAL SCIENCE

Monthly data.
Ready to research.

Analysis-friendly snapshots of participant-authorised, de-identified platform data—with stable match codes, explicit exclusions and a codebook beside every release.

DATA SOURCE REGISTER

Public core means
collected here.

The monthly library never quietly blends records from different consent histories.

EXTERNAL REFERENCE

100K historical comparison sample

Used on the SDO feedback page as aggregate distributions with its external provenance and convenience-sample limitation stated. It is not a YWID participant-level public release.

Aggregate-only unless original consent and licence permit more
YWID CORE

New platform contributions

Only data gathered by this platform with a current explicit open-science permission can enter the automated monthly release.

Eligible for the public catalogue after disclosure controls
RESEARCHER PROJECT

Study-specific collections

Data from researcher-built studies stay in their governed project workspace and never enter the public core automatically.

Private by default and purpose-bound
PUBLIC BY DESIGN, LIMITED BY DESIGN

A useful core—not a data dump.

The public collection is deliberately smaller than the private research record. It contains only the fields needed for common secondary analyses.

INCLUDED
  • Release-specific match_id
  • Age band
  • Gender category
  • Continent
  • Raw SDO item responses
  • Derived SDO scale scores
NEVER IN THE PUBLIC FILE
  • Name, email or account ID
  • Internal participant or session ID
  • Exact age or detailed location
  • Race, religion or political identity
  • Exact dates and timestamps
  • Free text or researcher-owned studies
ONE RELEASE · TWO LEVELS

Start small.
Link only when needed.

Most analyses need only the participant-by-item core file. A separate long-format behavioural file holds approved study interactions and timing. The same temporary match_id links them within that month’s release.

PRIMARYCore data

One row per completed SDO measure. Demographics, 16 item responses and scale scores.

match_id
OPTIONALBehavioural data

Long-format item latency, answer revisions and whitelisted interface events. No event payloads or exact times.

RELEASE LIBRARY

Cumulative monthly snapshots

Each release freezes all eligible platform-core submissions received before the stated cutoff. Researcher-created surveys never enter this pipeline.

RELEASE METHOD

Reproducible from consent to CSV.

  1. 01EligibilityOnly completed platform-core records with a current, explicit open-science opt-in are selected.
  2. 02MinimisationIdentity, exact dates, detailed geography, free text and non-core research fields are removed.
  3. 03Disclosure reviewNo public file below 100 records; demographic combinations below 5 are blanked.
  4. 04ReleaseA new monthly match-code salt, immutable CSV objects and documented metadata are created together.
RESPONSIBLE REUSE

Open does not mean unrestricted.

These prototype releases are for non-commercial research under CC BY-NC 4.0 · non-commercial research use. Users should cite the release month and schema version, avoid re-identification attempts and report disclosure concerns to the platform steward.
